Amit Singh

Founder & CEO

Amit started his career in operating systems at Bell Labs in Murray Hill, New Jersey. He has also worked at IBM Research, Google, and Facebook. At Google, he contributed to search infrastructure, established and ran Mac engineering, founded the Chrome OS project, and created MacFUSE. He authored Mac OS X Internals: A Systems Approach, a definitive 1600-page classic on operating system architecture. Prior to osdyne, Amit founded osmeta, which he sold to Facebook. He has worked extensively on BSD, Chrome OS, Linux, Mac OS X, Solaris, and numerous other systems, with work spanning kernel development, virtualization, file systems, and systems architecture. Amit was in the perfect position to assemble the team needed to realize the osdyne vision: create a modern unified software ecosystem for all machines, leveraging decades of Computer Science learnings, lessons, and hindsights.

Core Team

The osdyne team includes some of the world’s most experienced and talented operating systems engineers who have had long careers both in academia and in the industry. They have authored books, published research papers, and made fundamental contributions to BSD, Chrome OS, Linux, Mach, macOS, Solaris, Windows, Android, and iOS at places like Apple, Bell Labs, Facebook, Google, IBM, and Microsoft. Our team members haven’t just previously worked on operating systems: they’ve implemented and shipped entire platforms—in some ways even supersets of what we’re building at osdyne.
